Hunter Machayla was born in Philadelphia but raised just an hour away in Delaware. She grew an interest in photography in 2016 and began taking photos of her cats, local parks, and anything that piqued her interest.

In 2017, Hunter wanted to try portraiture but had no one to model for her and was unsure of how to pose people. To solve this problem, she dived into self-portraiture where she grew as an artist and learned to love herself in the process. As her confidence grew, she began directing photoshoots of her cousins and friends, doing everything from casual shoots to conceptual shoots.

Other than photography, she is also interested in creative writing and graphic design. She hopes to integrate graphic design into her future career. In her free time, you'll find her with her nose buried in a book (physical or digital).

In June of 2025, Hunter graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Photography and a minor in graphic design from Drexel University. She hopes to work as an in-studio fashion photographer or freelance as an Editorial photographer. Hunter also wishes to continue personal projects and get that work shown in gallery spaces.
